Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026. Applies to the Pleroma app on iOS and Android and to this website.
This policy explains how Pleroma ("we", "us") handles information. We are based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. Questions: support@pleromatribe.com.
1. The short version
- Your personal practice stays on your device. You don't need an account to use Pleroma. Journal entries, kind moments, intentions, dreams, Ripple of Light progress, Lost Texts discoveries, rewards points and settings are stored only on your phone.
- Your voice stays on your device. Speech is turned into text using your phone's on-device speech recognition. Audio is not recorded, saved or uploaded.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't track you across apps or websites.
- The Tribe community is optional. If you join it (18+ only), we store what's needed to run it with our provider, Supabase.
2. Information stored only on your device
Pleroma saves the following in the app's private storage on your phone: journal and dream entries, kind moments, intentions and reflections, practice history and streaks, your Ripple of Light, Lost Texts progress, rewards points and milestones, and settings such as reminder times. This can be very personal, including spiritual beliefs and wellbeing. We do not receive it and cannot read it. Deleting the app deletes it. Your device's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include app data according to your device settings; that is handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
3. Microphone and speech recognition
When you tap a mic button, Pleroma uses the microphone and your operating system's speech recognition, set to on-device only, to turn your words into text. Recording continues until you tap stop. The audio is not kept or sent to us. If your device can't recognise speech on-device, you can type instead.
4. Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We don't use push-notification servers to send you marketing.
5. The Tribe community (optional, 18+)
If you choose to join the Tribe, we collect:
- Email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account or a moderation decision. There are no passwords.
- Date of birth, used only to confirm you are 18 or older. It is never shown to other members.
- Profile: display name, and optional bio and avatar, which are visible to other members.
- Content you post: threads, replies, likes, and art (images) and music (audio) you upload, links you share (for example to Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp or Apple Music), and their titles, descriptions and tags. These are visible to other signed-in members.
- Safety records: reports you make or receive, the members you block, and moderation actions. Reports are never shown to the person reported.
- Copyright takedown notices: the claimant's name, email and description of the work.
- Technical data needed to run the service, such as sign-in session tokens and server logs kept by our host.
Where it's stored. Community data is stored with Supabase, our database, sign-in and file-storage provider, on servers in Seoul, South Korea. This means your community information is stored outside Australia. Data is encrypted in transit.
How we use it. Only to run the community, sign you in, prevent abuse (rate limits, content filtering, moderation), enforce our Community Guidelines, and respond to lawful requests. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell it.
Who sees it. Other members see your public profile and posts. Moderators see reports. Supabase processes data on our behalf. Authorities receive information only when the law requires it, and we report child-safety material to the authorities.
Opening links. When you open a shared link, it opens in that service's app or website, which has its own privacy policy.
6. Deleting your account and data
In the app, go to Tribe → Profile → Delete my Tribe account. This permanently deletes your account, profile, posts, replies, likes and uploaded files. Moderation-log entries about your account may be kept for up to 12 months to stop banned users returning, unless the law requires otherwise. You can also ask us by email: see Delete your account. Your on-device data is removed by deleting the app.
7. Children
The personal practice features contain no community features. The Tribe is only for people aged 18 and over. We delete any community account we learn belongs to someone under 18.
8. Your rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold, or complain about how we handled it, by emailing support@pleromatribe.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
9. Security
Community data is protected by access rules at the database level (row-level security) so members can only change their own content, and all connections use HTTPS.
10. Changes
If we add features that change how data is handled, such as a shop or redeemable rewards, we'll update this policy and the date above before they go live.
